On this page
Casino free spins are a promotional offer issued by US state-licensed gaming platforms. Many US operators hand out 500 or even 1,000, usually attached to a deposit offer, but not necessarily. While numbers look appealing, what actually decides value is whether the winnings arrive as cash or bonus funds.
DraftKings and Golden Nugget offer no-wager cash spins. FanDuel and BetRivers have free spins with 1x wagering. Depending on the package, players can get 50-100 free spins per day, with an average expiry date of 24 hours. The shape of the offer depends on the casino.
The Best Casino Free Spins in the US
Online casino free spins are ranked by whether the winnings pay in cash or bonus funds. They’re never ranked by spin count.
Free Casino Spins That Pay Cash
DraftKings, bet365, and Golden Nugget are the three operators that pay spin winnings without wagering. In short, whatever you win can be used or withdrawn right away. This is something that players value more than spin count, as it has more substance.
Casino Bonus Free Spins Explained
Casino bonus free spins are pre-paid slot spins usually bundled in a welcome package. They are rarely sold or purchased separately.
Casino sites use them to let players try out new slots without risking their own deposit. All free spins offers are different, with the main differentiator being whether the resulting winnings have strings attached.

Which Types of Casinos Offer Free Spins
Each casino shapes the bonus spins on its own. Some opt for a smaller batch attached to a deposit match, others may include free spins as part of the welcome offer.
In some cases, casino bonus free spins may be part of loyalty programs. In markets with no competition (Rhode Island, Delaware), free spins offers shrink, as there are no rivals to compete against.
| Casino Class | Offer Shape | Wagering | Who It Suits | Operators |
| Sportsbook-first brands with an online casino | Spins are the entire welcome offer. Largest counts, flexible game choice, $5 qualifying wager. | None-1x | Almost every player, this is where the spins money is | DraftKings, FanDuel, Golden Nugget |
| Multi-state operators | Spins are an add-on bolted to a deposit match. The match carries the wagering; the spins usually don’t. | None on spins; 15-30x on the match | Players who intend to deposit meaningfully | bet365, BetMGM |
| Brands tethered to land-based establishments | Branded spins on a house progressive, tied to the parent property’s loyalty program. | 1x | Players who also visit the physical casino | BetRivers, Borgata, Hard Rock |
| Single-operator and lottery-run markets | Small batches or no free spins at all | n/a | Players in Rhode Island and Delaware, who have no alternatives | Bally Casino in RI; Delaware skins on a single platform |
What’s not covered on this page are sweepstakes casinos or social gaming platforms, as well as unlicensed offshore casinos.
Mobile and App Free Spins
DraftKings and Golden Nugget require the app to select the daily game for your free spins. They both feature apps for Android and iOS, which can be downloaded through the respective store.
How the Spins Are Actually Delivered
The delivery mechanism depends on the operator. Keep in mind that larger spin batches are delivered in smaller groups, and usually expire quickly.
| Operator | Release Schedule | Expiry Date | Eligible Games |
|---|---|---|---|
| DraftKings | 50 per day for 20 consecutive days (total of 1,000 free spins). Credited on daily logins. | Each batch expires after 24 hours. | Over 100 slots to choose from. Your choice locks the full batch on that game. |
| Golden Nugget Casino | 50 per day for 10 days. Credited on daily logins. | 24 hours | Available on selected slots. |
| FanDuel | 50 per day for 10 days. | Daily batch expiration. | Operator-chosen slot. |
| Bet365 | Released across 10 days. | Daily batch expiration. | Rotating selection of featured slots. |
| BetMGM | 100 per day for nine days in PA. 50 on deposit for WV. | Daily batch expiration. | Operator-chosen slot. For WV, it’s Bellagio Fountains of Fortune. |
| BetRivers | Credited within 48 hours of qualifying deposit | Within the 30-day bonus window | Named progressive: Lion Link (MI/NJ/PA); Lightning Gorilla (WV) |

Which Slots You Can Use Them On
The eligible slots vary by operator. Players should review the free spins online casino bonus terms and conditions to learn about the games they can use the spins on.
- DraftKings: Players can choose from 100+ online slots. Previously, the free spins bonus was restricted to Cash Eruption. 500 of the 1,000 free spins are Lightning Link Spins.
- bet365: Rotating selection of promoted slots.
- Golden Nugget: Choice from the eligible Flex Spins list.
- BetMGM: Specific title. The West Virginia spins are available on Bellagio Fountains of Fortune.
- BetRivers: Lion Link for Michigan, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey. Lighting Gorilla for West Virginia.
- FanDuel: Operator-chosen slot.
What Kills the Value of a Spins Offer
Several reasons can shoot down the value of a free spins offer. These include:
- Missing a login: Some free spins batches are credited daily. If you don’t log in to get your daily spins, you will miss out and forfeit the offer.
- Choosing a game later: Free spins batches typically expire in 24 hours. That’s 24 hours after choosing, not 24 hours after crediting.
- Selecting the wrong game first: In most cases, you need to launch the specified slot (eligible game) to activate the spins. Selecting the wrong game first can trigger issues. The first spin locks the daily batch to a specific title.
- A hard end date: Some free spins promotions have a hard end date. If it ends on a specific date and you’re close, you won’t be able to use your spins.
How We Ranked Them
We check several important factors for free spins offers currently available to determine the value. Here’s what’s most important:
- Whether the winnings pay in cash: No wagering on a free spins offer outranks 1x wagering and makes such offers a priority. Both outrank offers with a higher playthrough.
- Eligible games: Choosing from over 50 or 100 slots outranks offers tied to a single house title.
- Qualifying action: We prioritize free spins offers tied to a lower deposit. For example, a $5 qualifying deposit outranks those of $10 or higher.
- Delivery window: The lower the delivery window, the better. A free spins offer with a 10-day window is easier to complete than one with a 20-day timeframe.
- Number of free spins: The number of free spins counts last, as size doesn’t always equal quality.
Frequently asked questions
What are free spins at an online casino?
Free spins at online casinos are pre-paid slot spins, usually bundled in a welcome package. They can be unlocked with or without a deposit, and they are not the same as the in-game free spins feature. US operators hand out 500 to 1,000 of them, released in daily batches rather than all at once.
Do I keep what I win from free spins?
It depends on the operator. DraftKings, Golden Nugget and bet365 pay spin winnings with no wagering attached, so whatever you win can be used or withdrawn right away. FanDuel and BetRivers apply 1x, which means winning $50 requires $50 in further wagers before you can withdraw it.
Which slots can I use free spins on?
Never the whole catalog. DraftKings and Golden Nugget let you choose from a list of Select Games. bet365 runs a rotating selection of promoted slots. BetMGM, BetRivers and FanDuel name a specific title, such as Bellagio Fountains of Fortune or Lion Link. Spins are void on anything outside the eligible list.
How many free spins do US casinos give?
Between 500 and 1,000 at the larger licensed operators, and such offers are usually attached to welcome packages or deposit bonuses. The size of the offer doesn't always equal the value, because 1,000 spins carrying a wagering requirement are worth less than 500 that pay straight to cash.
Do free spins expire?
Yes, and sometimes it can be pretty quick. Daily batches of free spins typically expire in 24 hours. At DraftKings and Golden Nugget that clock starts when you pick your game, not when the batch is credited. Miss a day's login and those spins are gone for good.
Do all online casinos offer free spins?
Almost all online casinos in the USA offer free spins, but the shape depends on the type of casino. Sportsbook-first brands offer the highest counts as part of the welcome bonus. National operators bolt a smaller batch onto a deposit match. Regional brands attach the spins to a house progressive title.
Are free spins the same as a no-deposit bonus?
No, they aren't. Free spins normally arrive as part of a welcome package triggered by a qualifying deposit or wager. A no-deposit bonus is site credit given just for opening an account. No-deposit free spins exist as well, but that is a separate offer with its own terms.
