Where You Can Play DraftKings Casino
The Five Live States
In Michigan, DraftKings runs through the license assigned to the Bay Mills Indian Community’s Bay Mills Resort & Casino in Brimley, launched on January 22, 2021, on the state’s opening day.
In New Jersey, Resorts Casino Hotel in Atlantic City, a Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment property, holds the license.
For Pennsylvania, DraftKings partners with Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course’s interactive gaming certificate, launching in May 2020. Finally, DraftKings is live in West Virginia, with a license running through Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races.
DraftKings is also active elsewhere but operates other brands. It runs Golden Nugget Online Casino after its 2022 acquisition. So in some states, you’ll find DraftKings in the registry as two separate brand names.
Connecticut: One of Only Two Seats
DraftKings operates differently in Connecticut.
The state allows only two casino operators, tied to the two recognized tribal nations, and DraftKings holds one of them. Its license runs through the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation, which operates Foxwoods Resort Casino in Ledyard. DraftKings went live on October 19, 2021, the same day the state launched its legal online casino market. FanDuel holds the other seat through Mohegan, so no third operator has a path into the state under current statute.
Legal States Where DraftKings Is Not Available
DraftKings isn’t live in two markets where online casino is permitted, and neither absence is a commercial decision. Delaware‘s casino market runs through the state lottery, which selected a single vendor to operate its three casino platforms.
In Rhode Island, Bally’s is the sole operator through a single-operator arrangement. Neither state can license an additional operator.
Maine is an interesting study for DraftKings. Online casino became legal through LD 1164 in January 2026, and the law specifies just one commercial partner for each of the four Wabanaki Nations. Caesars holds three of those relationships and DraftKings holds the fourth. That puts DraftKings in line to operate in Maine once the market opens. The market has not launched and no date has been set.
Nevada is a separate case and is not a casino state at all. It permits online poker only, not online casino games, and DraftKings has no online poker product.
Everywhere Else
Online casino isn’t legal in Texas, so DraftKings Casino doesn’t operate there. The same applies in California, Florida, and New York, none of which have authorized online casino gaming. Here’s our full state-by-state breakdown for DraftKings’ products and where they’re currently live.
Who Licenses DraftKings Casino in Each State
The Five Regulators
DraftKings Casino works with five regulators across its five live states: the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection Gaming Division, in collaboration with the Mashantucket Pequot tribal authority; the Michigan Gaming Control Board; the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement; the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board; and the West Virginia Lottery Commission.
How DraftKings Holds Its Licenses
DraftKings doesn’t operate with a standalone gaming license in any of these five states. Instead, its state-specific license runs through a land-based or tribal partner, which is why you’ll find the partner’s name in the register rather than DraftKings.
In Michigan, it uses the Bay Mills Indian Community license. In New Jersey, the licensee is DGMB Casino, LLC d/b/a Resorts Casino Hotel, with DraftKings as one of its permitted online brands. And in Pennsylvania, it goes through Mountainview Thoroughbred Racing Association, LLC d/b/a Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course.
In Connecticut, oversight of DraftKings and other operators is split between a tribal authority and a state agency, which is not how the other four work. DraftKings Casino is operated by DraftKings Inc. Across all five states the rules are the same: players must be 21 or older and physically present, verified by geolocation on every session, and residency is not an access test.
